There are 2 Breaks on Playa La Puerca. The first is about 200 mts from the shore. This one is ussually a close out but if you can manage to be at the right place and at the right time you can catch either a left or right ride. This is a fast moving wave with a steep drop and a nice wall in front of you to play around with. The second break is about 160 mts from the shore. As the wall of whitewater from the first break makes its way to the beach the wave reforms into a perfect right which you can ride all the way to the beach. This second break (the reform) is always a few feet smaller than the first. If you are lucky and avid enough you can ride the first break all the way to the second and then all the way to the beach. Both breaks are only rideable on high tide. Ideal conditions for perfect surf are 13ft to 16ft high tide, a 6-9ft swell, and no wind.
