La Puerca gives you access to more than 80 waterfalls that are as close as a 1 minute walk or as far as a 4 hour hike.All beautiful and majestic with falls up to 100ft and pools up to 15 ft deep.Some of these treks have seasons and all depend on the weather, which can be severe at times. Birdwatching by horseback is an excellent way to see some of the rarest birds such as hawks, eagles, parrots, tucans, parakeets.There is also an abundance of monkeys including capuchin, tamarins, howlers and spider monkeys.As well, there are pumas, jaguars, coutamandis, anteaters, snakes, iguanas and much more. Snorkeling in and around the reefs that are inside of the Cerro Hoya park limits, you will see many kinds of fish, corals and turtles.Or you may just want to sit on the cliffs and watch for whales! Walk the tidepools and oberseve the marine life such as tropical fish, lobsters, octopi, conchs, sea urchins, eels and
more. Surf at 2 different breaks only a 2 minute walk from where you sleep. Kayak around the coast on calm days or kayak surf at La Puerca Beach. Harvest you own tropical fruits and vegetables for you meals.There are pineapple, oranges, guayaba, breadfruit, avocados, lemons, mandarins, plantains, bananas, cassava root, coconut, guava, mangoes, papayas and more.All organic of course. Go on late night walks or horseback rides on the beach and witness the turtles laying there eggs or even better to see the hatchlings popping out of the sand and making their way down the beach into the ocean. We can also arrange deep sea fishing for wahoo, tuna, dorado, sailfish, marlin, amberjack in the areas outside the park.
